DICHI

Detroit's new fusion

DICHI is a Michigan-born jazz collective with a simple mission: original music that makes you feel something. Led by saxophonist Colin McCahill and guitarist Hayden Cusmano, the band puts a fresh fusion spin on jazz — equal parts groove, grit, and heart — and has been winning over rooms across Michigan one show at a time.

Featuring:

Colin McCahill – Saxophones
Hayden Cusmano – Guitar
Ian Lukas – Bass
Malcolm McNitt – Drums
Ben Lafo – Trombone
Roland Chandler – Percussion

DICHI’s sound draws from a deep well of influences — George Benson, Nicholas Payton, Butcher Brown, Cannonball Adderley, and Kenny Garrett, with a healthy dose of James Brown funk thrown in for good measure. One minute it’s a fiery solo that gets the whole room moving; the next, an introspective ballad that pulls everyone in close. Whether you’re a lifelong jazz fan or hearing the music for the first time, DICHI makes you feel like part of the band.
